Cline Cellars Winery 2005
California Viognier $16 Pretty and enticing classic Viognier floral nose. Peaches, baked apples, and apricots on the palate.
Rich, soft, and round, with a long, lingering finish. One of the most pleasing, harmonious, and satisfying Viogniers we’ve
encountered anywhere near this price range. Match with a sea bass in a beurre-blanc, or other rich seafood combination. Goes
well also with spicy Thai food. Or serve as an aperitif with Brie for a fascinating food/wine combination. Order

Kunin
Wines 2005 Viognier, Stolpman Vineyards $28 An artistic achievement in this
varietal. It is not overly perfumed as many Viogniers tend to be, but the aromatics are delicate, seductive, and in beautiful
balance with the experience on the palate. Serve at no less than about 55 degrees so the bouquet blossoms fully in the glass.
Winemaker Seth Kunin makes wines that express the characteristics of the varietal and the terroir, avoiding manipulations
in the winemaking process that interfere with the wine's natural ability to express itself. For Viognier fans, a gorgeous
wine that should not be missed. Visit

d'Arenberg 2005
"The Hermit Crab" Viognier-Marsanne $14 A fun, bright, and
thoroughly refreshing blend of 70% Viognier and 30% Marsanne. Wildflowers and tropical fruit on the nose, with concentrated
pears and tropical fruit flavors. Bold and fruity, with a clean lively acidity, but with an intriguing harmony and sophistication.
This one disappeared quickly in the tasting, and we can't imagine anyone not loving it. A terrific value at $14. Order from K&L Wine Merchants.
